Master Manong Tom Lopez started training, over 45 years ago. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and continued training in various styles and systems as he traveled the world. He has trained in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, China, the Philippines, as well as throughout the United States.
In the latter years of his Marine Corps career he began training fellow Marines in the martial arts and found teaching the martial arts was more rewarding than just training himself.
Upon retirement in 1988 he moved to Wisconsin and established a school in Baraboo. The success of this school lead to the opening of other schools in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Manong Lopez is a five time Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee and a Grand Master, 10th Dan. He has also received three Doctorate Degrees in Philosophy of Martial Arts and Sciences.
He is the Wisconsin State Co-Director for the Inayan Training Organization, the Wisconsin State Representative for the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Martial arts study includes the Inayan System of Eskrima, Shaolin Kempo, Tai Chi, Okinawan Karate-do, Okinawan Kenpo Karate Kobudo, and many other systems and styles.
